The most important part of any workout plan is "DIET!!!" Your diet plays into every single part of your growth, no matter what your goal is. If your like me and you like to gain good lean muscle mass while still retaining a trimmed up mid section, then you will need to have a diet that is high in protein! Protein helps rebuild torn down muscle, and your body needs muscle to burn fat. If you get your proper protein amount everyday, then you will actually start losing weight without even stepping foot in a gym! WHAT?!!! Yep, that's right, I said it... Your body needs at least 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight a day. I'm 176lbs so I need 176 grams of protein per day (about 60% from food and 40% from protein/meal supp shakes). However since my goal is to gain lean muscle mass, my muscles will require a little bit more protein to get bigger and recover faster! The great thing
about The System is that you can tailor it to your needs however you like. During My System plan, I lost 50lbs in 6 months, gained 2 1/2 inches on my biceps and lost 6in around my waist. Most of my loss and gain happened within the first 3 months. The 6 meal diet portion of my System was as fallows:
1. Breakfast- 4 egg whites and 2 full eggs = 6 eggs
2. Protein shake and banana
3. Lunch- 2oz of brown rice and 2oz of tuna.
4. Protein shake and apple
5. Dinner- 2 grilled chicken breast over a plate of rice and a green vegetable like broccoli or green beans. Sometimes I sub the chicken for shrimp or turkey.

Keep in mind that when I started the diet, I started doing just the 2oz of tuna and 2oz of brown rice for lunch everyday. That alone is what supercharged my losing weight campaign and helped me evolve into a more full-time healthy eater.
